Raspberry Pi Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users and developers of hardware and software for Raspberry Pi. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I explicitly followed the directions that came with the Edimax 7811UN and could find Wlan0 but even after setting up etc/network/interfaces 20 different ways it gives the error "can't read the interfaces file". I used the script below with the same results. allow-hotplug wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp wpa-ssid "YOUR NETWORK NAME" wpa-psk "YOUR PASSWORD"

I have 4.72 volts at the pins and am using a mini-keyboard. Using a powered USB hub doesn't seem to help. To make matters worse I was able to get the Ethernet to work for a few hours but no more so I have no Internet access. Should I configure the Ethernet manually? Thanks for any suggestions.
