Nov 21, 2012 at 10:48 comment added Darkmage I wold rather control it with who can access you RBi with ssh then messing with default users ~vim /etc/ssh/sshd_config add a line that says "AllowUsers glenn darkmage" this wold only allow glenn and darkmage to access my machine trough ssh, then restart ssh with sudo /etc/init.d/ssh restart
Nov 21, 2012 at 10:00 comment added Laurence Buildbot and Couchdb can login, can I just put a password on them? And those who have shell access, can I also add a password on them? Because my ssh port is open.

Nov 21, 2012 at 9:21 comment added Darkmage like Jivings says if a user is tagged with shell "/bin/nologin" and "/bin/false" in the "/etc/passwd" file it shows that is cant be accessed.
Nov 21, 2012 at 9:10 comment added Darkmage @lian by default no other then system or root can access these accounts. But if a hacker gets in to you system any other way they can be edited or changed to make for a easy backdoor account. So your main objective is to keep the intruder out because if he gets in, he can hide hes backdoor way harder to find then a predefined user. so don't worry so much about those.
Nov 21, 2012 at 7:44 comment added Jivings @Iain If the default shell is set to /bin/nologin, then the account is disabled to external login.
Nov 21, 2012 at 2:25 comment added Iain @Darkmage Do you know the other answer for Laurence? how do I know if someone from the outside can login with the default password on that account?
