I want to second @scai. Newer models of Apple's Mac computers now run Arm chips: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_M1 hence os.uname()[4][:3] == 'arm' will yield True for both Raspberry Pi and for any Apple computer with an M1 chip.
