Nit pick: "various operating systems, including Debian, Ubuntu and LXDE" -> LXDE is not an operating system, it is a desktop environment (the "DE") which can be used on any normative GNU/Linux system, and is/has been used as the default on various "light" distributions, from which Raspbian is derived. The "lx" in lxpanel is so because it is part of LXDE. The current default Raspbian/RpiOS desktop environment is a fork of LXDE.
