I'm trying to set up an Access Point on Wlan0 with Enet0 and Wlan1 (wifi dongle) as DHCP clients. I followed two excellent answers to set up AP with either eth0 or wlan1 as a client.

Access point as WiFi router/repeater with additional WiFi-dongle

I'm using Raspbian Lite Stretch.

I first set up my AP with eth0 as DHCP client (success), NAT. I then attempted to add wlan1 as a DHCP client. Both eth0 and wlan1 successfully connect via DHCP, but wlan0 goes down and I'm not sure why. Ideally, I would want either eth0 or wlan1 to provide internet access to the AP.

What does it mean "either eth0 or wlan1"? What should be used first? When should be used the other? – Ingo Jul 25 '19 at 23:32
