I am using a raspberry pi 3 with raspbian buster and python 3.7.3.

I can install packages fine in my virtual environment using pip3 install. This can be seen when I use the command pip list, all my packages come up correctly:

(cv) pi@raspberrypi:~ $ pip list

Package Version

Click 7.0
dlib 19.17.0
face-recognition 1.2.3
face-recognition-models 0.3.0
imutils 0.5.2
numpy 1.16.4
Pillow 6.1.0
pip 19.2.1
setuptools 41.0.1
wheel 0.33.4

Some of these packages are fine, like numpy and pip. However, when I try to import the packages I "pip3 installed" in my virtual environment, it comes up with the ModuleNotFoundError such as with dlib:

    >>> import dlib
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "stdin", line 1, in module
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'dlib'
  • The most common issue I've seen is people using pip and python3 (or pip3 and python) instead of making sure to use pip3 and python3 together. You say you're using virtual environments so I don't think that should be an issue, but have you double checked that you're using the Python 3 versions of everything just in case? – Aurora0001 Jul 28 at 10:33
