Is it possible to save as an image what the Pi is currently showing on screen. I have a Pi showing images using a Python script. The Pi boots up in console and I connect to it remotely using SSH/Putty.

Since the Pi is on a different location, I would like to know what the Pi is displaying on screen. I know with fbi you can display images using the terminal, but I want the other way around. Read the framebuffer and save as an image using a remote login. Is this possible and if so, how can I do it?
