I have a Godex label printer, model RT863i.

https://godexprinters.co.uk/desktop/rt863i

I tried to connect with my Raspberry Pi 3B+, but it turned out to be complicated. On the Godex site I found a drivers for Windows, Linux (x68, x64), and MacOS.

When I try to install Linux driver, receive a message something like: "This drivers works on _x86_64, can not install on armv7l". I added printer by CUPS and chose supplied by Godex CUPS PDD file, all is OK, but when I trying to print, received a message: "rastertoezpl not found". I asked Godex for drivers on ARM, but they don't answer yet. I found source on :

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/rastertoezpl/

Can I compile this on ARM flag or something? Maybe someone knows some other trick to work with this printer from RPi?

Thank you for all the help in this topic.

  • If you found the driver sources you should be able to compile it on your Raspberry Pi with Raspbian Buster. I don't believe you will find someone here that has done it before so it's up to you to try it. If running in trouble then ask about it. Trying to use CUPS is also a good idea. You may google for what rastertoezpl is needed and how to get it. – Ingo Sep 19 at 17:00
