I try to mount a USB drive automatically on my PI 3B+, i following the instruction on site « How to format and mount a USB drive on Raspberry Pi? » by Patrick

I past in the /etc/fstab the partuuid of my usb drive, ext4, /mount path .... Save and exit a fsatb file After reboot and press sereval time in Enter key, i have all time a same message: « Reloading system manager configuration. Starting default target. You are in emergency mode. After logging in, blablabla... cannot open access to console the root account is locked, see sulogin(8) man page for more details. »

What wrong w the patrick’s instruction? How can I exit this emergency mode
