I have a retropie on Raspberry Pi 4 that doesn't seem to connect to my Xbox one controller.

Checking sudo systemctl status bluetooth.service yields

    bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
Active: active (running) since Fri 2021-04-16 14:10:49 BST; 46s ago
         Docs: man:bluetoothd(8)
     Main PID: 1649 (bluetoothd)
       Status: "Running"
        Tasks: 1 (limit: 4915)
       CGroup: /system.slice/bluetooth.service
               └─1649 /usr/lib/bluetooth/bluetoothd

I have looked up every statement on the internet, but I cannot figure out what should be done to start the service successfully.

What am I supposed to do to launch bluetoothctl ?
