I have built a touchscreen device using an RPI4b and want to restrict access from people plugging in keyboards and mice into the USB ports and mess around. The app runs under pi and LXDE, so theoretically a user can just ALT-TAB or CTRL-ESCAPE and get to the desktop and shell.

I am wondering if anybody knows of a program that already exists that will engage when the system recognizes a new /dev/hid% and then prompt for a password in order to continue?

Thank you very kindly in advance!

Be well and stay safe.
