I am designing a CM4 board that may accept a camera so I am questioning about the camera connectors and port.
The CM4 has two MIPI CSI ports:
- Camera 0 : 2 lanes
- Camera 1 : 4 lanes
In the standard RPI board, camera 1 is used with only two lanes (this is already confusing). An FFC 15 pin connector is used as most cameras have this connector. However, on several CM4 interface boards, an FFC 22 pin connector is used instead. So it would require an adapter.
In 2021 and for the next upcoming years, should I go for a 15 pin connector or a 22 pin connector?
