i recently wanted to use the hostapd wifi access point but after i installed it and rebooted i repeatedly got the following messages in console on boot:

[DEPEND] Dependency failed for wpa_supplicant daemon (interface-specific version)
[ OK ] Stopped Advanced IEEE 802.11 AP and IEEE 802.1X/WPA/WPA2/EAP Authenticator.
Starting Advanced IEEE 802.11 AP and IEEE 802.1X/WPA/WPA2/EAP Authenticator...
[FAILED] Failed to start Advanced IEEE 802.11 AP and IEEE 802.1X/WPA/WPA2/EAP Authenticator.
See `systemctl status hostapd.servie` for details.

The problem is that i cant use ssh because it doesn't connect to my local network, so i cant access a shell and i also cant stop this process by pressing strg+c

thanks in advance

Tobi

  • Unless you can provide more insight than "something broke my system", I doubt you'll get any useful advice apart from reinstalling Nov 5 at 13:44
