The cards have video file names written to them. When a card is placed on the MFRC522 sensor, the video is played. Now, I am unable to figure out how to stop or pause the raspberry PI from taking the input while the video is playing. Let's say the user keeps the card on MFRC522 sensor, what is happening is the MFRC522 sensor takes the input and while the video is playing, it starts the playing from the beginning. I have thought that what I can do is I can get the duration of the clip and when that video is played, I can use time.sleep() function to pause the input from MFRC522 sensor, but I am unable to do that. Can anyone please help me? I am doing this in Python3. Thank You.

  • One quick and dirty solution tis the following: (1) Let Rpi continuously/loopping read the card while video is playing, and as soon as the card is removed, Rpi would read nothing, then stop video playing; Reference: (1) Can RFID read stacked cards? - EESE Q&A electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/519993/…
