Raspberry Pi 4B does not boot properly with official Raspberry Pi OS. It was working 3-4 months ago. I have not used it since then. But today the issue occurs.

  • If I attach power and monitor with RPi it boots fine. But after systemd kicks in, display goes black. No activity in USB drive and Read/Green LEDs.

  • If I attach a UART USB Serial device it's same case. After showing the following message, there is no activity in USB drive and Read/Green LEDs.

I have redacted some of the repeated lines with ellipsis. Those are the same EDID error messages.

  • If I use SD card slot the last message line is as follows, the rest are same as above.
MESS:00:00:29.449832:0: gpioman: gpioman_get_pin_num: pin SDCARD_CONTROL_POWER not defined
  • I have tried to flash the bootloader with RPi Imager and it went successfully without any error.

  • I have added these three lines in config.txt to enable the UART.

enable_uart=1
uart_2ndstage=1
dtoverlay=miniuart-bt

So, How can I troubleshoot this issue? I can provide further diagnostic information if required.

  • if a fresh image or new sd with a fresh image resolve, then some data got corrupt on your previous sd.
