The small touch screen GUI (connected to the hmdi ribbon connector) will be reporting temperature, humidity, and motion with the odd text or audio report. I also want to be able to simultaniously access the RPi remotely without affecting the small touch screen display. Out of the box, any additional users (eg remote users) will display on the small screen. Not exactly what I am after.

  • I have no problem wiyh remote access. My need is to leave the local screen displaying the GUi while I continue remotely working on the said GUI app. I'd also like to see the app working while I work remotely on another app. When both apps are running I want to be able to retreive data while not affecting the local gui display. Will Docker / containers do this? I also want to be able to retrieve data from the local GUI app. I'm not a programmer, just someone trying to solve a problem. Two RPi's in the same remote location would work very well but then I'd have to buy two computers.

  • Please edit your question and all the additional information you put in the comment, into your question. Right now it is not clear what you are asking. Please give examples in your question. Explain how exactly you are remotely accessing the RPi (such as which protocol, client software, etc) and what happens, and what you expect to happen.

Welcome -- but it sounds a bit like you are describing a problem which doesn't actually exist, but you think it might. If not (ie., if this is an empirical reality that could be demonstrated with a screenshot, etc.), then you need to describe in detail exactly what the app is, where it came from, and how you are running it. You also need to explain exactly what it is that is appearing on the screen when you connect remotely. As per the last comment edit these details into the question, do not simply post them as comments, and your question can be re-opened.
