There is no bluetooth interface available on my RaspberryPi 3.

This is me executing the commands to some general information that might be relevant:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 5.15.61-v7+ #1579 SMP Fri Aug 26 11:10:59 BST 2022 armv7l GNU/Linux

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cat /etc/os-release

rfkill 32768 7 bluetooth,cfg80211

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ dmesg -T |grep Bluetooth

[Sat Oct 29 21:54:38 2022] Bluetooth: BNEP socket layer initialized

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ bluetoothctl
Agent registered
[bluetooth]# power on
No default controller available

I reset the RPi and set it up fresh, but the problem persists. Is it maybe a hardware issue? As in - the Bluetooth chip is broken?

  • Does service bluetooth status or journalctl -u bluetooth show any errors?
