I have a Raspberry Pi Model B w/ 256MB of RAM. I want to use it for serving my printer (via CUPS) and some files to my local machine (Mac). But I also want to tinker a bit with it, so I want to have some resources left when I work locally on the machine. So I wonder which protocol to use for the files: SMB or NFS? Which one is less resource intensive? Are there other advantages? I have used both before on bigger hardware than the Raspi.
