I can't find a copy of the RPi.GPIO python package license. PyPi suggests there is one but can't point me to it. Does anyone know where to find a copy of the license?

The license is surprisingly difficult to find. I downloaded the latest release from its sourceforge page. It looks like an MIT (included below).

That's not a custom license - it's just the old MIT license (widely regarded as a permissive "do as you please, just include the copyright" license, TLDR legal has a summary) Feb 10, 2017 at 15:59
