Before attempting the installation I first ran apt-get update / apt-get dist-upgrade / sudo rpi-update (followed by a reboot). These all finished without any problems.

Installing wpasupplicant manually via also did not work:

wget http://security.debian.org/debian-security/pool/updates/main/w/wpa/wpasupplicant_1.0-3+deb7u4_armhf.deb
sudo dpkg -i wpasupplicant_1.0-3+deb7u4_armhf.deb

Suggestions are welcome.

  • Why are you installing what is normally already installed? what Distro and version are you using. – Steve Robillard Oct 26 '17 at 16:53
  • I kept receiving errors when updating so I removed wpasupplicant entirely (purge). I am on the latest version of Raspbian Stretch. – Vincent Oct 26 '17 at 17:11
