I got a webcam that supports images up to 1920x1080 but when i use motion to capture video it can only go as high as 640x480.
if i specify anything higher in the motion.conf the webcam doesnt return any video.
i am starting motion as service:
sudo service motion start
is there a place where it logs to?
you may start motion in setup mode using command: motion -s and it will print quite a lot of messages to the screen:
