I want to send an sms from my phone to my GSM sim 900 using a Raspberry Pi 3. I used this code but it shows me this error I don't why? the code and the error

MsgNo=fd[p[0]+1:q[1]]

Index error:list index out of range

I think because of there is no data in p and q but I'm not sure.

This is the code:

Try changing these lines:

p=list(find(fd, ","))
 q=list(find(fd, '\r'))
 MsgNo=fd[p[0]+1:q[1]]     

With the following:

P=fd.index(“,”)
q=fd.index(“\r”)
MsgNo=fd[p:q]
