I want to make a Pi Zero that runs a looping video with no user input whatsoever and is safe to just unplug. I'd be running Raspbian Lite with no GUI or other programs in the background, just the video.

I can make it run a looping video on boot, but I'd like to make it automatically unmount the microsd card after starting the video (it's only 45MB to 100MB, can it be fully loaded into Pi Zero Ram?) so that the card can't be corrupted when the device is unplugged.

Is this doable?

  • no, the operating system lives on the SD card - and, a lot is happening in the OS even when you're doing nothing with Pi – Jaromanda X May 16 '18 at 1:12
