A few months ago I set up A2DP with this tutorial.

After some time the Bluetooth seems to have stopped working. Not because of the tutorial, but rather because of software issues with the Pi.

Now, when I want to connect a Bluetooth device, the message "GDBus.Error:org.bluez.Error.Failed: Protocol not available. Try to connect manually" shows up. This wasn't the case before. As well, on my streaming device (Phone in this case) the options to pass over audio has disappeared, and I can only pair, but not connect.

I'm on Raspbian Stretch.

  • obvious question, have you tried starting from the beginning, new install of the OS, then follow that tutorial - try it on a different SD card if you can – Jaromanda X Sep 26 '18 at 23:17
  • is Bluetooth still on? if you have the desktop running, look at the Bluetooth icon on the toolbar – uSlackr Sep 27 '18 at 0:26

From another user: "It seems that a recent OS update may have impacted this (based on the comments in this tutorial)." – goldilocks Nov 23 '18 at 13:21
