Previously on Raspbian OS, I used to access the internet from my Raspberry Pi by connecting it via Ethernet to my laptop. My laptop is running windows 10 and has the WiFi network's internet is shared. That used to work for me, I only had to connect the ethernet to my Pi and I had access to internet.

Now my issue is that with Raspbian Stretch Lite I have been trying to access my internet through the Ethernet but that isn't working. I thought about using sshuttle to share the internet through the Ethernet but that's tricky given I am using windows.

My question is how can I share my internet access to my Raspberry Pi through the Ethernet?

I don't have a Raspberry Pi USB WiFi Dongle or any other device to directly connect to my router.

Thanks in Advance.

  • how can I share my internet access - didn't you say you had that working on your laptop ... My laptop is running windows 10 and has the WiFi network's internet is shared. That used to work for me - so, perhaps you need to make that work on the laptop again – Jaromanda X Oct 28 '18 at 0:44
  • The method I talked about works on the Default Raspbian OS (which has a UI) but not on the raspbian stretch lite OS (no UI). – SamJ Oct 28 '18 at 6:20
  • How do you check that the RasPi has no internet access? Have you tried to ping 8.8.8.8 from the RasPi? If not, try it. – Ingo Oct 28 '18 at 10:56
  • @SamJ - I doubt that - the GUI has no bearing on the networking – Jaromanda X Oct 28 '18 at 23:09
  • Instruction: ping 8.8.8.8 Output: PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8) 56(84) bytes of data. ==> (then keeps on showing) Destination Host Unreachable – SamJ Nov 3 '18 at 20:29
