I have a Raspberry Pi 3b and I have a WebSocket server up and running on my localhost after following this tutorial. I can go to localhost:8080 and control my pi using a checkbox running socket.io and JavaScript.

I also have a separate Ubuntu Linux web server with Apache running my personal website.

My question is, how could I control the Raspberry Pi from my separate personal website Linux server via a WebSocket wirelessly? I know I could simply run my WebSocket server to my public server ip address, but then I couldn't run my website. Any answers would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • I can't run 2 separate servers pointing to the same I.P. Address. I could load everything on the Raspberry pi but then Id be running my website on a pi which I don't like the idea of :L – LJF Nov 28 '18 at 2:27
  • I guess the question should've been phrased. "How To Control a Raspberry Pi from an Apache web server". Right now I know I'm not doing it the right way. – LJF Nov 28 '18 at 15:26
