I am a 100% beginner when it comes to raspberry pi and this is my first project. I am trying to configure a microphone and speaker for an alexa module being integrated into my magic mirror project (https://github.com/dolanmiu/MMM-awesome-alexa). I got the speaker working fine, but when I tried to get the microphone setup, the way that they had instructed me to on the audio setup page (https://github.com/dolanmiu/MMM-awesome-alexa/blob/master/docs/AudioSetup.md) returned me with this error when trying to record:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ arecord --format cd --duration 15 --channels 1 test.wav arecord: main:722: audio open error: No such file or directory

Like I said before, all of this is extremely new to me so I am not very well versed in raspberry pi, so any help would be amazing as I have no idea what to do from here. I looked at some of the other forum posts with a similar error and none of them helped whatsoever. If it helps, the mic I am using is a Mini USB Mic and here is the arecord -l:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ arecord -l **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** card 1: Device [USB PnP Sound Device], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

I would be glad to provide any other information I can to help anyone figure this out, because at the moment I am 100% lost and have no idea what to do. Thanks so much in advance.
