I'm trying to get a USB audio device working on a raspberry pi 3.

It is listed when I do aplay -L as

default:CARD=UAC2
    Default Audio Device
sysdefault:CARD=UAC2
    Default Audio Device

No device number to use for testing.

When I do aplay -l I only get the inbuilt audio devices.

When I do lsusb I get.

Bus 001 Device 009: ID 1686:f028 ZOOM Corporation

But using device 9 doesn't work when I try this -

aplay -D hw:CARD=UAC2,DEV=9 test
aplay: main:788: audio open error: No such file or directory

Yes the file is there I tested it with CARD=ALSA,DEV=0 and it plays fine.

Any ideas where I'm going wrong or how to get this working?
