According to my rough calculation if the feed is only one color ie greyscale it should the camera should be able to take 3 times as many frames per second (reducing from RGB (3 colors) to one (greyscale)) also would recording in a 4 bit feed rather than an 8 bit feed make the FPS twice as fast as the processor would processing less? because together this could increase the FPS 6 fold?

  • Which camera? Which feed? I think this is unlikely because the bottleneck is probably in reading the focal plane array, but that, of course, depends on the hardware. – Brick Jun 12 at 12:19
