USB 3.0 is the third generation of USB connectivity, and is many times faster than the previous USB 2.0. No model of the Raspberry Pi supports this higher transfer speed "SuperSpeed", but appliances offer USB 2.0 backward compatibility to be operated with the Raspberry Pi.
