Joel Wigton

Formerly "while1" on the Electrical Engineering stack exchange.

Circuit design, embedded guy, constant tinkerer and inventor. Cut teeth in VLSI making high-speed ALUs and analog IO. Firmware for hard drives. Then worked on the race to build the world's first exa-scale supercomputer. Wrote code that auto-generated high-speed switch IP.

I enjoy challenging circuit design work that pushes the design envelope in some way. I enjoy working the boundaries between hardware and software.

I love coding in many forms. Firmware, scripts, web development.

I am fascinated by the world of manufacturing. I read prolifically on the subject of hardware startups and bringing products to market. I love simple, functional, and aesthetic designs and am constantly thinking about how to make such products better and cheaper.

Lately I'm more and more deep into web app development. Latest pursuits in SaaS apps, computer vision, and machine learning.
