Oct 9, 2015 at 12:23 comment added dhruvvyas90 @user3585723 Regarding 30 % usage, capture might be using single thread and hence other cores would be sitting idle, I don't know internals of how capture works but that's the most likely reason. If I remember correctly, I used to get 100 % CPU usage on Rpi 1 and BBB.

Oct 9, 2015 at 12:19 comment added ssinfod I tried the same webcam (Lifecam HD-3000) on my Ubuntu 14.04 and I got 30 fps at 1280x1024.
