USB 3.0 is the third generation of USB connectivity, and is many times faster than the previous USB 2.0. No model of the Raspberry Pi supports this higher transfer speed "SuperSpeed", but appliances offer USB 2.0 backward compatibility to be operated with the Raspberry Pi.

Is it possible to physically upgrade either model's USB ports from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0?

Would the build not recognize the difference or be capable of supporting the USB 3.0 speeds? If problems arise, would the issue sit with software, hardware, or another area?
